Next 2018 the prestigious Fashion Museum of Paris will have as new director Miren Arzalluz.

The Spanish woman, Miren Arzalluz, will be the new director of the mythical Palais Galliera during the next five years. It was Arzalluz himself who confirmed it after the announcement of the presidents of Museums of Paris, Bruno Juillar, who highlighted the experience of the Spanish in the field of conservation, study and exhibition.

With a degree in History from the University of Deusto, she has her name intimately related to that of Balenciaga, being responsible for collections for seven years and curator of the Cristobal Balenciaga Museum in Getaria. The best book about the author is undoubtedly the one that signs this multifaceted artist who in 2010 surprised everyone with their release.

He therefore replaces the one who could be considered his mentor, Olivier Saillard, since the relationship between both is undoubtedly the trigger for his appointment. Together they have collaborated on numerous occasions and there is a continuity in the direction of the Museum through the passion of Saillard to unite fashion with different disciplines of art.

One of the first challenges facing Arzalluz is the opening, scheduled for 2019, of the Sales Gabrielle Chanel that will host the first permanent exhibition. A sample about Martín Margiela is also planned for the first part of the year.
