The French firm, Balmain, delights with his homage to Jaco, full of sequins.
Last Sunday June 24 took place, the presentation of the spring summer collection for 2019 of the house Balmain. For this occasion several locations were used pertencientes to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Parisian capital, which were prepared for the occasion.
The music and message of Michael Jackson has always been hope and celebration and is what the designer of the house Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, has tried to capture in this new collection so special. Ten years after his farewell, the histrionic artist is still at the top of the story.
The disproportionate shoulder pads, sequins, white socks and loafers have been the most outstanding items of the collection, in clear reference to the American musician. But also the proverbial French patriotism has been present with clothes replete with the colors of the national flag.
The choice to make the parade on Sunday instead of the Sabbath has not been, however, as successful as the rest. This fact caused that the affluence of personalities was less than other events of this nature. Not even the cast of models was as spectacular as in previous catwalks of the brand.
We celebrate, in any case, that Jaco’s memory and this new fashion collection are capitalized. Maybe next year the firm returns to the path of Saturdays for presentation. Or maybe I can change the trend and Sunday can be fashion day on. Who knows?
